The Three Newest Beer Brands In Our Portfolio

Thorpe Distributing Company is a premier beverage distributor, already boasting a diverse portfolio. The products we distribute range from local specialty sodas to some of America’s favorite beer.

We recently welcomed three new brands into our beer portfolio: 10 Barrel Brewing, Elysian Brewing company, and Blue Point Brewing. Introducing new, unique beer to our accounts and to local consumers is always exciting, and we can’t wait to hear what you think about these products.

Here’s a bit of background, in case you’re still on the fence:

10 Barrel Brewing

10 Barrel Brewing is a working brewery (read: no taproom in its facilities), but they’ve opened pubs in Bend, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; and Portland, Oregon. Their flagship beer is the Apocalypse IPA: “This west coast style IPA is our flagship beer. We can talk about IPAs and hops all day, but you better just give it a run for yourself.” (IBU: 70, ABV: 6.8%)

You can read more about their beer (check out some unique styles!) on their website.

Elysian Brewing

Elysian Brewing operates four Seattle restaurants – Elysian Capitol Hill, Elysian Tangletown, Elysian Fields, Elysian Bar, and a full production brewery – Elysian Airport Way, in the Georgetown neighborhood. Known for variety, Elysian has brewed over 350 craft beers since it opened on Capitol Hill in 1996.

You might know Elysian best for their Space Dust IPA (ABV: 8.2%, IBU: 73). Here’s a look at their tasting notes: “The hopping is pure starglow energy, with Chinook to bitter and late and dry additions of Citra and Amarillo.”Space Dust

Blue Point Brewing

Toasted LagerFrom the navy yards of Long Island, Blue Point is well known for their Toasted Lager. Take a look at these tasting notes from their website:

“Toasted Lager is the best American Amber Lager you’ll ever taste. To back up that claim, we use six different grains to perfect a balanced flavor of malt and hops, and a special proprietary lager yeast to give Toasted Lager an exceptional, long-lasting smooth finish that’s meant to be enjoyed year-round. Pairs perfectly with fresh seafood … or any food for that matter. We know it’s good, but don’t just take our word for it. Toasted Lager is an award-winning beer, highlighted by its gold medal from the World Beer Cup in 2006.”

How do I try it?

These new brands will only be available on tap in July, so look for them at your favorite bar. Starting in August 2016, these brews will be available off-premise as well.
